Black Lies is the kind of read that has you thinking! I tell you that I was so enthralled by this book and I was constantly thinking about it, trying to figure out this secret that Brant was hiding and that Layana discovered. But the subtle clues that were dropped along the way had me thinking…

Layana was raised by her posh family and got out as soon as her trust fund was released. She wanted a life of her own and built one quite well. When she crossed paths with Brant, it was the beginning of a whirlwind relationship and neither could be happier. Brant is very successful and since he was eleven he's been selling his creations that have made him a billionaire. He has his secrets, but until now has never been in a serious relationship.

Even though they have a strong relationship, things are not always easy… and then we meet Lee. I was all like oh no… and I was also going back and forth wondering whether I liked Layana or not. it was a little confusing because she harboured deep feelings for both men and was quite passionate about pursuing Lee. So I had to keep reading to see what this secret was and how it all worked together.

I am so glad that I saw this book until the end because it turned out to be quite a clever read. When all the details were revealed I had that ahhh moment and was happy that I was thinking that way. There were plenty of steamy sex scenes to keep my blood pumping, and intense scenes that would have me thinking. Alessandra Torre has done a remarkable job twisting this story together, keeping you on your toes to try and unravel the secret. I'll be definitely picking up another Alessandra book in the future!

  6. Ooh, man, I feel like all of my blogger peeps are ganging up on me now that my December book buying ban is over. First Kimberly, Brandee & Lexxie with J. A. Huss' series, and now you & Braine with Alessandra Torre.

I'm so glad you liked it! I met her in September and she's so sweet and now it's got me wondering what stories she's hiding in her head cause this one sounds so good. It's actually one that I didn't get from her at the event because she didn't have it. It was almost at the end so she had limited copies and let me tell you, she was popular. Her book covers are so beautiful. And I'm so glad you liked this cause that means I will too. Thanks for sharing and great review!

I have to read the books I got from her still. There just isn't any time it's crazy. Everyone I met that day was so nice. I need to get back to going to events. I'm so glad you loved her book, I'll have to read it. I love talking to you about the books we've both read. We have such similar taste :)
