Title: The Liberator
Author: Victoria Scott
Series: Dante Walker #2
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Published: August 27th 2013

Bad boy, meet bad girl.

Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.

After finishing The Liberator, I don’t know where to start, I have so many thoughts running around in my head! Let me just start by saying… I loved it!! I thought that I loved Dante after The Collector, but he has pushed his way further into my heart, I tell you! He may still be that bad boy – you should know by now how much I love the bad boys – but he has a good side as well. It was action packed from beginning to end and filled with an amazing storyline that I found difficult to put down!

Dante is as cheeky as ever!! He always has a smart-assed comment to say and I love that about him. He hasn’t changed his ways completely, but he still believes he is bad to the bone!! He thinks he is better than everyone and the only person he holds higher than himself is Charlie. When he goes on his first Liberator assignment, he is hesitant, but does it because Charlie wants him to. It turns out to be very eventful and intense journey that brings them all together.

Charlie tries to be different for Dante; she is struggling with who she wants to be. She wants to be bad for him so they fit together better but Dante fell in love with her a long time ago, when she was a nice and innocent girl. She is as selfless as always and doesn’t want people to be hurt because of her. She struggles with some other personal issues too, but hopefully it will make her stronger in the future. The strength of their relationship is questioned in the beginning and I was hoping that they could work through everything and be the perfect odd couple!!

The Liberator is a fast-paced read that had me glued to the book!! I tried to tell myself that I could function without sleep, but sleep won out in the end. I was immersed into all the action, cracking at all the funny lines and swooning over Dante! I met a few new characters, some of which I grew to like and the return of some others made it very exciting! I was kept in suspense towards the end of the book, wondering which way the story would go. I absolutely love Victoria’s writing style and how well she channels her inner Dante!! Some of the things she puts in this book had me in stitches and I can just imagine a cocky bloke like him saying things like that… Oh, and a tiny cameo from an Aussie!! Whoop whoop! The ending has been left wide open for the next book as there was a lot of unresolved business. We are heading into a lot of action… And it cannot happen soon enough for me!!

I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review.
